Sarah Henstra

Sarah Henstra’s novel The Red Word won the 2018 Governor General’s Literary Award for fiction and is a finalist for the Dublin Literary Award. She is also the author of Mad Miss Mimic (2015), a finalist for the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year (YA) and the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People. Henstra is a professor of English literature at Ryerson University in Toronto, where she teaches courses in the novel, the Gothic, fairy tales, critical theory, and creative writing.
