Opportunity for Schools: Apply for Free Access to the 2027 Forest of Reading® Program
The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation (ILOR) is proud to partner with the Forest of Reading® as an Access Champion to expand equitable access to literacy opportunities for children across Canada.
Through this partnership, 150+ schools will receive:
- Complimentary access to the 2027 Forest of Reading® program (value $70)
- $400 in new Canadian books to engage and inspire students (Approximately $20/book)
This initiative aims to remove barriers to participation and ensure that every child—regardless of circumstance—can experience the joy, pride, and lifelong impact of reading Canadian stories. This initiative is to help schools show a strong commitment to literacy and fostering a reading culture.
Eligibility Criteria
Schools are eligible to apply if they:
- Receive at least 80% of their funding from provincial or federal sources
- Serve elementary students (Grades K–8)
- Can demonstrate financial need
- Have not participated in the Forest of Reading® in the last 2 years
Note: Schools that do not serve Grades K–8 or are not publicly funded are not eligible.

- Notification of Successful Applicants: October 1, 2026
