September 1-30: Voting for the Evergreen Award program (Winner announced during Ontario Public Library Week, 3rd week of October)

October 1: Registration opens for the 2024 program

October 15 (October 16th in 2023 since 15th is a Sunday): Nominated lists for the school-aged programs are announced

October 15-21, 2023: Ontario Public Library Week

November 15: Password portion of the website open for 2024 registered participants

January 24-27, 2024: OLA Super Conference

April 1-30: Voting for school-aged programs

April 23: Official Forest Voting Day for school-aged programs (World Book Day)

May 14-16, 2024: Forest of Reading Festival – Toronto – in-person and digital experience both offered

May 22, 2024: French Event (location TBD) for French-language award
