BOOK SYNOPSIS

When eleven-year-old Hailey and her friend Kyle make a wish on a Chinese lion statue, they accidentally bring a dragon to life.
Scared at first, the kids soon realize that Zhu the dragon means them no harm, and they show the dragon around their city. It’s all fun and games until Animal Control gets wind of a wild creature on the loose. The kids have to find a way to send their new friend back home before she’s taken away.

An Offer from Marty Chan (Silver Birch Express and Red Maple nominee)

I have a special offer for schools registered in the Forest of Reading program. The first 10 schools to contact me will get a discount on my virtual book talks that are delivered between now and the Forest of Reading award ceremonies in May.  Normally, my virtual sessions are $200 plus HST. If you are one of the first ten schools to contact me, you can book my sessions for $100 plus HST.

For Silver Birch Express Award readers, I’ll talk about the inspiration behind Dragon on the Loose and open the floor to questions from the students.
For Red Maple Award readers, I’ll share the creative process behind my contribution to Today I Am and field questions from the kids.

Anyone interested can reach me at martychanauthor@gmail.com or via my website (www.martychan.com).
